Why We Love: Mimosa
This beautiful sweet smelling late winter & early spring plant is having its most glorious moment right now - in late February, and it continues to bloom throughout a short period in early spring. The mimosa plant first blossomed in Africa & Asia, preferring warmer climates, but is now grown all over the world, including Britain- where it had become a joyful symbol of approaching spring.
Mimosa also has a special significance for many across the world as the official flower of International Women’s Day which is celebrated every year on the 8th of March. #IWD is a global movement which celebrates, stands in solidarity with and raises awareness around female equality & female empowerment. Mimosa is one of Nikki's very favourite flowers for it's vibrant beauty and for it's association with this cause-which is close to her heart.
