Orchidaceae commonly called the orchid family, is one of largest families of flowering plants. There are over 28,000 different species around the world.
They date back to 500bc where they originated in China and Greece. They can now be found in every continent in the world except Antartica.
Orchids have a much longer live span the other flowers - lasting for months when cared for correctly. They are also hypoallergenic making them perfect for every household.
Orchids are typically found with very colourful blooms and can be seen in almost every colour.
Orchids are often used in weddings and we can see why! Orchids add a luxurious feel to table arrangements and bouquets and are extremely versatile so can fit any theme. Using orchids for your wedding bouquet can give it a natural free flowing style.
Due to Orchids durability, they are one of the most wilt resistant flowers so when it comes to summer wedding - you don't have to worry about any droopy blooms on your special day - which is certainly something you don't want to worry about!
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR ORCHIDS
1. Orchids are best placed in indirect sunlight.
2. Orchids grow best in humid conditions so if your room is dry, try a humidity tray to recreate this.
3. Prune the stems once the flowers fall off to improve its regrowth.
4. Overwatering can cause orchids to die so water it with small amounts regularly.
