THE LANGUAGE OF ASTILBE
How this feathery flowers came to receive their name...
Astilbe is a genus of 18 species of rhizomatous flowering plants within the family Saxifragaceae.

It is native to Asia and North America but can now found growing all around the world.
Although it is relatively easy to grow, it needs a lot of shade to grow properly. As they are perennial plants, they can live for many years.
Astilbe flowers come in shades of white, pink or red and are known for their large feathery flowers and large unique leaves.
Due to its romantic meaning, astilbe is a beautiful flower to use at weddings - especially for boho style weddings as it gives a wonderfully wild feel to arrangements.
Astilbe is traditionally used as a filler flower in bouquets and it is certainly a favourite of ours to use at this time of year. It could also look beautiful in a posey vase on it's own!
