Inside a London bridal afternoon tea at The Lanesborough, hosted for fashion designer Emilia Wickstead.
Set within one of London’s most storied rooms, the occasion unfolded against a backdrop of forest green silk, gilded detailing and a soaring ceiling that rose like a Regency marquee. Elegant, atmospheric and deeply refined, the space offered the perfect setting for an afternoon dedicated to bridal beauty, considered design and the exquisite world of Emilia Wickstead Bridal.
The Lanesborough is known for its sense of grandeur, and for this bridal afternoon tea, the room felt particularly enchanting. Its rich green walls and classical proportions created a striking canvas, allowing the flowers to feel both romantic and architectural.
We wanted the floral design to complement the drama of the room rather than compete with it. The result was a palette of fresh whites, soft greens and delicate meadow textures, bringing lightness, movement and a sense of modern romance to the space.
Flowers with Height, Softness and Movement
Towering verdigris urns framed the room, filled with pillowing clouds of white hydrangea. Their abundant form brought softness and scale, creating sculptural floral moments that felt perfectly at home within the historic interiors.
Below, low meadow style arrangements spilled across deep green linen, designed to feel natural, abundant and gently undone. Guelder rose added fresh green volume, while chartreuse threads of alchemilla brought a delicate brightness through the tables. Cosmos Orylia added an airy, graceful finish, giving the arrangements a sense of movement and light.
Together, the flowers created a layered garden feeling within the grandeur of the room, balancing opulence with softness.
