We have replaced the beautiful festive decorations for a fresh and clean magnolia tree to welcome in the new year. The team at Wild at Heart have been working ferociously over the past couple of weeks to transform many of our favourite London shop fronts into scenes that would be welcome on the front of any Christmas Card. The Wild at Heart flagship shop is no exception with arches made from a mass of sprayed pine, asparagus and lichen, framing the fresh winter flowers below.

Wild at Heart, recently dressed the tables of Wrotham Park for an unforgettable 50th birthday dinner. The opulent table settings were designed to mirror the beautiful surroundings of the historical room with generous gold beakers containing a mix of cream roses and dahlias running down the length of the table. The flower arrangements were  accented with gold pineapples and crystal storm lanterns to complete the lavish look.

To mark the 1st of December and the countdown to Christmas, Wild at Heart are sharing Nikki’s personal home interior tips this festive season…

What is your advice on creating the perfect tree? 

Your tree will be the focal point of the room and the center piece of the home over the festive period, so choose a theme and colour scheme that will compliment your existing décor.

Decorating your tree with a mixture of standard and over sized ornaments is a great way to give it a more professional look. Embellish your tree with the larger decorations first and don’t be afraid to incorporate a variety of textures to create depth and interest.

I love generosity in everything and Christmas is the perfect excuse for this, I always use masses and masses of lights. I can’t think of anything else that would make your tree more magical!


Where do you find your Christmas inspiration?

My time is split between my home in London and my home in the country, I find massive inspiration in my surroundings from the architecture and gallery’s in the city to the stunning woods and open fields near my home in the south downs. I love to take the dogs out on big walks on a crisp morning and look out for seasonal foliage and branches such as lush holly and lichen to take home and incorporate into my decorations. It’s important to remember that you can add a natural element to your decorations by using foraged pieces which can be so beautiful and free!


What are your key tips for fresh flowers in your home during the festive period?

Always work with flowers in season, as they will not only look their best but they will last longer. Every December I fall in love with Anemone’s again, they have such delicate petals and come in a beautiful variety of colours, to suit any home. My home in Notting Hill is bold and bright, so a mixed clashing Anemone Bouquet acts as the perfect accessory to my living space.

You should always make sure you re-cut the stems of your flowers at an angle before placing them in cool water. Ensure your vase is extremely clean and you change the water every couple of days to try and get the most out of your arrangements.


How do you like to dress your own table for a dinner party over the festive period?

I keep my table simple each year using just a few elements to create impact, again incorporating dried fruit and pine to envelope guests with their beautiful fragrance but also to add a texture to the table. I do have a weakness for a candelabra’s they add a drama and height to the evening, however, for a cozy dinner with friends our new table centers create the perfect focal point.


Your essential Christmas must have…?

Christmas scents are essential… no matter what decor I have each year, I always try and incorporate fresh pine, scented O’Hara roses, cinnamon and dried orange. These scents are such an indulgence at Christmas and evoke so many memories for me.

If you have an aga it’s really easy to make dried oranges yourself.  I slice them into thin segments, lay them on a baking sheet in leave them in the bottom of aga for a couple of days.


What kind of Christmas wreath do you go for?

I always go OTT with my wreaths, the more indulgent the better, again you should consider existing decor and colour of your door when choosing your own. I will be spending Christmas in the country this year, so have gone with a large, dried orange, lime and pine wreath – it smells delicious!

We returned to the historical venue of One Marylebone recently to dress the hall for a spectacular 21st birthday like no other. Alongside globally renowned Lilingston Events, Nikki and our talented creative team worked closely to curate a magical evening that will never be forgotten.

With the freedom to explore the brief of  ‘blue’, our team took inspiration from many sources to bring to life the concept of a wonderfully detailed, playful and luxurious ‘Midnight Forest’.


With a tight turnaround, our talented army of florists worked tirelessly day and night on the run up to the evening’s festivities, creating a staggering 8ft of flowered table runners and 20 stunning statement trees – with no area of the venue left untouched.


On the evening guests were welcomed into the entrance hall for a drinks reception, which was dressed in beautiful light grey Lilingston bespoke furniture and framed with a wonderful light grey sparkling fern arch.


Guests were then lead into the great hall, and into the Midnight Forest….

Two tables ran the length of the room, dressed with intricate table runners comprising of a generous mix of red dahlias, pimpernel hydrangea, clematis, lilac tulips, anenome, delicate grape hyacinth and four different types of blue delphinium. The runner took inspiration from the wilderness of a forest floor, with pimpernel hydrangea leading guests attention up to the forest canopy . The table setting was accented with details such as Wild at Heart bespoke, hand-blown glass oil lamps, filled with dyed blue paraffin, and striking agate place cards designed by Lilingston.


The statement trees were comprised with a mass of glitter and cobalt blue sprayed asparagus fern, which created the sparkling forest top.  After the lavish dinner in the Midnight Forest, guests were invited to walk along the custom blue glitter carpet and retire to the dance floor for an evening of entertainment provided by Jess Gylnne.

img_8555Thank you to Living etc. for the festive feature on Nikki in this months issue. Among other notable creatives, Nikki outlines her essential Christmas interior tips and inspiration in the article shot in her stunning London home.

One of  her favourite time of year, Nikki stands by her mantra of ‘generosity’ at Christmas and the styling of this shoot certainly followed this. Opulence was the key theme as she dressed her bold dining room for an intimate dinner among close friends.

The look which enveloped the room was created using a mass of gold asparagus fern and sweet scented garden roses to form a unique and over the top  garland, striking table center and dress her standout pine tree.  Her antique, marble, dining table was set in clashing green crockery, gold cutlery and accented with beautiful gold napkin rings, with an added final flourish of hand written festive menus.

It’s time to say goodbye to one of our favourite garden flowers until next summer. The dahlia originating from mexico comes in a variation of beautiful forms. From the most detailed little ‘pom poms’ to creamy  Caf‎é-au-lait as large as dinner plates, New Covent Garden flower market has been brimming with the dahlia’s throughout summer and autumn.img_082013671834_1798374533725472_1421610272_n16Throughout summer our florists have been using an abundance of bright dahlias in our luxury bouquets and our creative team have been incorporating a mix of deep burgundy and plum colours into our amazing weddings and events, such as the recent showcase at Kensington Palace.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas at Wild at Heart HQ…! Over the past few weeks we have been hard at work creating the new Bicester Village festive install. The scent of fresh pine and dried lavender have been enveloping the workshop as our creative events team made a series of over sized wreaths, transformed the Nikki Tibbles Wild at Heart feature tree and even created a bespoke sleigh to complete the festive look.

About The Roll: 

The Event Manager will be the first point of contact with our fantastic clients, across both the private and corporate sectors, and will be responsible for the planning and logistics of bringing an event together. Responsibilities will include:

- Taking event enquiries, and being the client’s main point of contact from initial meeting, to event completion
- Creating detailed and informative proposals to a high quality finish, showcasing the Nikki Tibbles Wild at Heart style
- Liaising with venues and event companies to ensure the team has all necessary information
- Organising and purchasing props and sundries
- Creating schedules, job sheets and flower plans
- Creating and managing event budgets
- Placing flower orders and liaising with suppliers, which will include visiting the flower market
- Managing events onsite, and ensuring they are run smoothly, efficiently and on schedule
- Ensuring the company’s high standards and impeccable eye for detail are reflected in every event

The ideal candidate will have:

- A positive, up-beat, can-do attitude
- A passion for creatively led events, with an equal focus on high impact pieces and intricate details
- At least three years’ experience within the events industry
- The ability to work positively within a small team, as well as taking responsibility when working independently
- Strong commercial awareness
- A thorough understanding of Microsoft Office programmes

Wild at Heart recently had the pleasure of dressing the tables of a 21st birthday party like no other. Working alongside Snapdragon Parties, we transformed the landmark venue of One Marylebone and recreated Rothschild’s Surrealist Supper…

img_1203Marie-Hélène de Rothschild’s famous Surrealist Ball took place in a chateaux just outside of Paris in 1972 and hosted a number of celebrities including Audrey Hepburn and Salvador Dali. To set the scene, the original invitations (stating a dress code of formal wear with a surrealist headdress) were written backwards, with guests having to decipher the text in a mirror. On arrival the guests were asked to complete a maze and walk through a black ribbon forest before being greeted by a number of feline hosts. Rumored to be an Illuminati party and shrouded in mystery, the surrealist supper fast became one of the most infamous nights in history.

babyFast forward to 2016 with Wild at Heart and the creative minds of our events team, we curated a magnificently unique evening based on the nights events in 1972. The history steeped hall of One Marylebone, in all its grandeur, lent its self amazingly to the party. The hall was dressed in six primitive trestle tables adorned in an eclectic mix of vintage and custom designed props. A series of cloche’s were placed on the tables, each one housing different and beautifully bizarre scenes. Autumnal foliage and moss added texture to the tables which were then completed with doll-eating-Venus fly traps.
