IMG_6377 (002)Strolling through the streets of Chelsea and Belgravia last week, we were greeted with floral installations on every corner.  Sloane Square was transformed into the plains of Africa – with residents taking on this years theme – a ‘Floral Safari’. Whilst Belgravia turned nostalgic with a week long celebration of classic ‘Children’s Story Books’.

Embracing the theme we transformed the front of our Pimlico Road Flagship store into a scene from the classic ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ book. IMG_3944Using all natural materials our team have re-created one of the books leading characters ‘Carol’. The 10ft friendly monster has been sculpted out of moss, wicker and decorated in over 700 leaves. WildAtHeart_10

Thank you to all those who stopped by and came to say hello to ‘Carol’…!

Next Tuesday 22nd of May marks the start of the world renowned HRH Chelsea Flower Show and the inevitable transformation of the streets of London. As shops, restaurants and hotels around the city prepare to adorn their fronts with fresh flower installations, we are taking a look at Nikki Tibbles Wild at Heart’s best ‘London in Bloom’ moments….

bloomsburrybloomsbury 1bloomsburyLast May Wild at Heart transformed the entrance of The Bloomsbury Hotel with an ‘Overgrown English Country Garden’ installation. The abundant arch was created with wild plants and flowers from lupins, foxgloves, rose plants, lavender and calceolaria gems to jasmine, hydrangea, cosmos and of course beautiful wisteria! FullSizeRender-700x550IMG_2995-700x933In honor of last years Chelsea Flower Show we created a rather fabulous installation outside of Berkeley Square’s Sexy Fish restaurant. Sitting above the restaurant’s orange canopy with its pouting red glitter lips, fluttery eyelashes and sparkling gold scales the statement fish was quite the head turner. This incredible installation took our team over ten days to create using over 1,000 custom-coloured hydrangea, 7,000 orchid heads, 200g of red glitter for those pouty lips, 12 cans of glitter spray, 40 cans of spray paint.kate spade_MG_0352 _MG_0381kate spade 2 kate spade 1 One of our favourite Chelsea in bloom moments has to be the complete transformation of Sloane Square’s Kate Spade New York Shop. Nikki and the Wild at Heart team created a true floral fairy tale with two large carnation flamingos, fluffy gypsophila clouds and miniature mushrooms… Winning Wild at Heart the Gold Award, Innovation Award, and the People’s Champion award.

Look out for our floral installs around London next week at The Marylebone Hotel, Soane and our very own Pimlico store!

Nikki recently spent the morning with reader’s of House & Garden for talk on all things landscaping and flowers. A select few garden enthusiasts joined Nikki and Carole Annette, House & Gardens Retail and Promotions Editor, for an inspirational brunch at Bicester Village. At home in the intimate setting, Nikki revealed how she forged her career as a luxury florist and more specifically, how her relationship with Value Retail has taken her down a very different path of landscaping.Nikki_Tibbles_Brunch_Bicester_Village - 108Nikki_Tibbles_Brunch_Bicester_Village - 93Nikki_Tibbles_Brunch_Bicester_Village - 128Nikki_Tibbles_Brunch_Bicester_Village - 16The ongoing two year project with Bicester Village has seen Nikki successfully transform the mall into an abundant ‘English Country Garden’, with each of the 180 still life vignettes changing throughout the seasons to mirror the surrounding Oxfordshire Countryside.

_A0A8242Nikki explained how she ‘dreamt of Bicester Village being an old manor house and the mall being a wild, overgrown garden – immersing shoppers’. Challenging industry experts, Nikki and the Wild at Heart team scoured individual, original antiques from around the world to create various focal points within the mall. As well obtaining plants, herbs and trees from nurseries around Europe to create unimaginable yet stunning combinations. With incredible attention to detail the evolving transformation of Bicester Village has surpassed all original concept’s gaining recognition from notified industry experts and publications. _A0A8250Having given the Village it’s own identity, Nikki now plans expand her creative talents to various different retail destinations across Europe – with her next project taking her and the team to Kildare Village, Ireland this week…

We have been celebrating the season with two spring flower classes at Liberty London. Head-florist, Ruth, began both classes with beautiful stem-bowl demonstrations, using an array of beautifully scented spring flowers. The first contained a stunning mix of nigella, roses and textured astrantia, The second, roses, vibernum foliage and blousy peonies.

Guests were then welcomed to watch Ruth’s hand-tie demonstration, as she created a famed Wild at Heart bouquet. Processed with VSCO with a6 presetIMG_3117IMG_3101FLOWER CLASSFLOWER CIMG_3077IMG_3142

33475821474_540b391b78_bWe are thrilled to share with you the success of the first Wild at Heart Foundation Pub Quiz. We were blessed to have the one and only AbFab women herself, Jennifer Saunders, host the event last week in a pub in West London.

It was a chance for friends of the foundation, supporters and adopters to test their canine knowledge while enjoying a glass of wine and fabulous food. All courtesy of the Elgin pub in Maida Vale. We are delighted to let you that the foundation raised just over £2600. These much needed funds will be directed toward our Bosnia project, which some of our team recently visited.

Special thank you’s go to Harriet Thorpe for pulling out the raffle tickets, Sara Delaney and Alexandra Palmay for their smashing photography skills, TRACE Publicity for their unwavering support and our quiz master, the fabulous Michael Guerriero. And of course a huge thank you to all who generously provided gifts for raffle prizes (House of Voltaire, Links of London, Lily’s Kitchen, Sock Shop, Hush, Absolute Flowers & Home, Lisa & Dean Franklin, Tata Harper, Blossom Consulting, Betty Jackson & David Cohen and Wild at Heart).

The highly anticipated annual arrival of one of our favourite Spring / Summer flowers came last week. A go to for summer weddings, fashion events and editorials – the peony returned to New Covent Garden Flower Market bearing a a sense of superiority, as they begin to once again hold our hearts for the summer months.

Their presence has got us ‘oh so’ excited for the full bloomed, frilly headed, sweet scented season ahead and with this in mind we have complied just a few of our favourite Nikki Tibbles Wild at Heart’s peony moments…image11 Head florist, Ruth-Warren-Steed’s wedding, set on the coast of Cornwall was a wash with peonies incorporated in her bouquet, statement arch and table centers. image2Last summers Soho Farmhouse wedding used Coral Charm peonies as the focal flower in the arrangements. All bought from New Covent Garden in the same shade of bright fuschia they were bleached of colour in our London studio until they turned this delicate shade of soft apricot. A generous mix of bright peonies with lush green guelder and dainty clematis. Our new collection will be online soon and brimming with the “Queen of Spring”…
