As anyone who knows me, I love my neon trainers! I can always be spotted dashing from meeting, to event, running after Reuben, back to meeting again, all in a faithful pair of trainers.
So you can imagine my joy at learning trainers are big news on the trend scene for 2014. Seen on many of the front rows and favoured by the fashion pack including Rihanna and Rita Ora, along with a pair of sparkly sneakers at this week’s Chanel Haute Couture Show, it’s a refreshing and fabulous trend and one I will be sure to continue following. Just look how fabulous the gorgeous Cara Delevingne was as a fetching bride on the Chanel catwalk in a dazzling pair of trainers.
So it’s official, trainers are cool and chic! Surely this calls for a new pair of Nikes….
Mothers Day is a rare opportunity for me to put my feet up and be indulged. Even as a florist, receiving a gorgeous bouquet always makes my day! Relaxed, simple and fun, my perfect day would consist of:
Breakfast in Bed.
I’d love being woken up with tray of delights. This recipe by Honest cooking would a dream way to start to my day.
A lazy Sunday wander in the park
A lazy stroll is a must on a Sunday afternoon. I like the whole family to take a wander with all our dogs in tow in my favourite London space, Hampstead Heath. My little relaxed haven within London, I often sink into a cup of black Earl Grey tea and and sandwich whilst the kids are having a run around on a brisk Sunday afternoon.
Afternoon Tea in Claridge’s
This one may be a long shot, but I’d love to spend the remainder of my afternoon sipping on champagne and nibbling finger sandwiches and gorgeous cakes in Claridge’s. Their baked raisin and apple scones are divine!
Say it with flowers
Finally it would make my day to receive my favourite arrangement, the Mothers Day Delicious Peach bouquet. Full of beautiful shades of delicate lime and peach, this fresh bouquet would certainly brighten my day.

‘Nikki visited the fabulous and sensorial Une Promenade installation by Karl Lagerfeld and CHANEL at Harrods today. More than an installation, this is a contemporary excursion into the enchanted world of CHANEL, like Alice stepping through the looking glass. The pop up shop on the 3rd floor was inspiring, as you entered through a symbolic curtain of white beads into the 2.55 shoulder bag room, past the luxurious garden where flowers scintillate with diamonds in display cases (with their very own and utterly adorable Chanel leatherette watering can!), into the fabulous Nursery filled with bespoke Chanel dolls, past the Haute Couture room (oh how we dream of receiving one of those stunning delivery cases complete with gown!), and Karl’s very own Studio 7L, with its gigantic library and finally the promenade leads you to the Tweed room dedicated to showcasing Chanel fabric as works of art.’
’The installation is on for 3 weeks – don’t miss an opportunity to be amazed and inspired!’
