This week we have been reminiscing about one of our favourite weddings of last year… ‘A Winter Wedding at One Mayfair’. The spectacular wedding designed by celebrity event planner, Sarah Gorlov, was created with such an innovative outlook and attention to detail, resulting in a truly unforgettable union for bride and groom.
The unique venue that played host to the ambient ceremony and reception was the grade 1 listed former St. Marks church, Mayfair. As one of the largest event venues in Mayfair, the space boasts unparalleled opulence and grandeur and is renowned for being one of the most prestigious wedding spaces in London.
The main vision for the wedding ceremony was to create shadowing and warmth in the vast space by illuminating the aisle with glass hurricane lanterns and hundreds of tea lights. The perfect setting for the magical ceremony that ensued. As the ceremony drew to an end guests were invited to enjoy drinks on the mezzanine over looking the great hall to absorb the full effect of the venue, whilst awaiting the hall to be re-dressed for the evening’s reception.
A lavish dinner was served on tables dressed in crisp white table cloths with fresh white and green centerpiece’s all accented with crystal, tall candle sticks and gold rimmed tea lights.
A mix of low and tall centerpieces were used, all containing a perfect mix of seasonal anemone, eucalyptus, white violet and sweet scented white roses. The striking assortment of light center pieces were perfectly off-set by the dark back drop of the hall, adding to the rapture of the enchanting winter wedding.
