Claridge’s is the most iconic 5 star hotel in Mayfair and is considered to be one of the best luxury hotels in the world. This week we had the absolute pleasure of creating wonderful centre pieces and unique floral designs for the most beautiful wedding. Claridge’s is the epitome of timesless elegance, and our design set the room off perfectly.

London’s streets and parks have suddenly erupted with a haze of pink and white petals – the beauty of spring is upon us. Breath-taking in its beauty but bittersweet in its brevity, the cherry blossom is an annual treat for the senses.

Japans national flower, Sakura, as it’s known in Japanese, is a symbol of renewal and hope. Heralding the arrival of spring, the beautiful blossoms are in abundance from last March till the beginning of May.

Providing a beautiful source of inspiration, for not only us at Wild at Heart, but our wonderful clients, the cherry blossom has featured at many weddings and events during spring. Here a just a few of the creations our Creative Director and his team have been working on:

From a beautiful Kensington Palace wedding, to vibrant Bicester Village blossoms – we’ve definitely done the treasured cherry trees proud with these beautiful works of art.

Here at Wild at Heart HQ, we’re in the midst of a company bake-off.  A rather competitive affair, the entrants so far have all, perhaps unsurprisingly, adopted a floral theme. From a raspberry creation decorated with sugar icing petals to a death by chocolate cake finished off with a little floral finesse, never have cakes and flowers seemed such a perfect pairing.

As there are still a few weeks of the competition left, there’s plenty of time to gather up a bit of inspiration. We’ve spotted lots of great ideas for incorporating flowers into bakes recently, and here are a few of our favourites.

Even if your cake doesn’t have a floral theme or flavour, decorating it with a few freshly cut flowers looks so beautiful. East London baker, Lily Vanilli’s creations are rarely seen without a handful of artfully placed flowers on top.

Of course, you can incorporate floral flavours into the cake itself, like this incredible almond crepe cake with rose- raspberry cream by food blogger Milly’s Kitchen.

Or, get the best of both worlds and try edible flowers in your cake design.  The cakes by Bees Bakery not only look amazing, all the petals are edible too.

Cute and creative, these mini meringues by the Meringue Girls are fashioned into little flowers – it’s hard to work out what’s edible and what isn’t.

This prosecco jelly by Jamie Oliver may not have flowers in it, but the floral presentation on top makes it look like summer on a plate.

Lastly, if biscuits are your bag, these cherry blossom biscuits by Biscuiteers are so apt for the season.

Ready, set, bake!

Last week we hosted a flower masterclass at our flagship shop in Pimlico.

Gathered around our long table in the centre of the room, our guests were offered a flute of something cold and fizzy while they watched a demonstration from our shop manager, Ruth, about how to construct the perfect arrangement.

After hearing all the hints and tips and watching the guys work their magic, it was over to our guests to get the creative juices flowing and green fingers working to create arrangements of their own – all of which were proudly carried home after the class.

With more flower masterclasses on the horizon,  stay tuned for more details.

Ernie and Oscar are two lovely dogs that the Wild at Heart Foundation came across at a dog pound in Cyprus after they were found on the streets as strays. Luckily Ernie (right) was adopted pretty quickly, but Oscar had to wait over two years before finding a home of his own. ERNIE AND OSCAR Thankfully, Cath, founder of Steampunk Coffee, who had previously adopted Ernie, saw his face on the foundation’s Instagram and fell in love. Oscar is now in Scotland reunited with Ernie and the duo are the most handsome double act in Berwick. ERNIE AND OSCAR 2 They have gone from the scorching streets of Cyprus to the overcrowded pound and are now finally living an amazing life next to the beach in Scotland with a fantastic new family who adore them.

English spring and summer time is when the country garden really comes into its own. From wild country meadows awash with colour to windows framed with pretty roses and fresh garden flowers blossoming, stepping outside at this time of the year is a constant source of inspiration.

As one of our favourite times of the year and with fragrant country garden flowers  always Nikki’s first choice, we love planning weddings and events around this theme.

ENGLISH COUNTRY GARDENWe’ve been lucky enough to create some amazing flowers for weddings with English Country Garden as their inspiration. We were really excited to create this stunning flower arch for a wedding in the heart of Somerset, using flowers which look as though they were freshly-picked and fashioned into a really striking arrangement.

jj1The garden theme continued through the day with all the other floral arrangements; from the sweet bridesmaid posies to all the little touches around the venue like stylish antique jugs, vases and urns holding lots of colourful blooms.

In another wedding, this time in Cornwall, we were asked to create yet another beautiful flower arch which really complemented the acres of green beyond and added a wild, rustic vibe to the day.

image4The key to successfully executing the look is by incorporating flowers which look natural in their environment but are still impactful. The displays and arrangements should have a natural, creative flair to fully evoke the English Country Garden theme.

Our favourite flowers to use? Roses, peonies, hydrangeas, stocks, delphinium and lavender. Just add sunshine… Although, if it’s a true English country wedding, there might be a rain shower or two.

Our fabulous girls at Wild at Heart are always looking for ways to do something challenging and rewarding in the name of raising money for a good cause.

On the 27th of this month, our very own Wild at Heart Foundation Rehoming Manager, Eve, is jumping out of a plane to help raise money for the Wild at Heart Foundation. So brave! All donations made will go towards helping stray dogs that are in need of vet care, food & shelter, and towards establishing neutering projects in countries where there are no laws in place to punish animal abuse. Good luck, Eve!

We were recently tasked with creating a beautiful bouquet of flowers inspired by the Kiss The Moon DREAM collection for a special competition.

The collection of products has such a wonderful blend of ingredients that it wasn’t difficult to get inspired. We were drawn by the lavender, bergamot, cedarwood and roman chamomile fusion, and chose flowers which we felt echoed the colours and the soothing effect the DREAM collection has; pure calm, zen and serenity.

The ‘Dream’ bouquet has a soft palette of purple, peach, lavender and green and our florist chose anemones, ranunculus, roses, lilac, guelder, and clematis for our floral interpretation.

We love delicate multi-layered ranunculus, so this pretty flower was one of the first that our florist plumped for when crafting the ‘Dream’ bouquet. Renowned for symbolising radiance and charm, we felt that they would represent how you might feel after a great night’s sleep, and chose a pale blush pink.

One of Nikki’s favourite flowers, we always love bouquets with fragrant roses, they’re so beautiful and always smell amazing – a real treat for any room in the house, but especially the bedroom. In this bouquet we went for something soft and peachy to complement the green and purple tones.

Dark, deep and a little mysterious, the anemone is a flower which is full of personality. Of course, we had to go for purple as it seemed like the ideal choice for a collection centred around relaxation and sleep.

Lastly, to offer the bouquet an added splash of colour, we included some lovely stems of guelder which is fresh, green and wild and some pretty lilac to mirror the lavender oil found in the DREAM collection.

A dreamy bouquet to match Kiss The Moon’s dream-inducing products, you can’t fail to feel relaxed and rested when surrounded by nature.

Enter the Kiss The Moon competition to win a collection of DREAM products and a Wild at Heart ‘Dream’ bouquet of your own.
