Last week we installed a beautiful blossom tree in Bicester Village designer shopping outlet. The inspiration for our creation was to mark the start of spring and the up-coming wedding season, so 250 stems of cherry pink blossom were crafted into a stunning tree packed full of cheerful fuchsia tones.

Bicester Village have told us that the tree is a huge hit with their customers, with lots of shoppers stopping to have their picture taken in front of it. We’re not surprised, its vibrant hues look perfect against a blue sky, and instantly speak of spring.

Nikki will be hosting a Flower Masterclass at Bicester Village on Thursday 10th March. The workshop will include tips on creating the perfect wedding bouquet as well as ideas for table settings and arrangements. Discover more.

When designing the bouquets for our Mother’s Day collection this year, we were inspired by the promise of spring and the beauty of wild flowers.

What better way to say thank you to your mum and celebrate the day than by presenting her with a lovely bouquet of fresh, fragrant blooms?

With a wide spectrum of bouquets available, from soft and sweet to vibrant and impactful, the collection sees designs of a wild, ethereal nature packed with plenty of foliage to stylish designs created with flowers that hint towards the season ahead, and chic, classic bouquets which never fail to please.

Wild in Nature
Inspired by the raw beauty of flowers in the wild, these bouquets have a creative edge, with plenty of greenery and eclectic flair – as if they have been freshly picked.

We were delighted to be able to work with Lancôme and BAFTA to provide some gorgeous centrepieces and floral installations for the Lancôme BAFTA Awards Nominees Party which took place at Kensington Palace last weekend. We created an arch of berried ivy studded with fuchsia roses framed the entrance inside the Palace. Pink roses hung from white trees at the drinks reception and knots of pink roses in varying heights adorned the long dining table inside the venue alongside a mix of silver and clear tealights. Here are some photos from the event, courtesy of BAFTA.

Our creative team recently created a beautiful table arrangement for a birthday dinner at private members’ club, Loulou’s in the heart of Mayfair.

The design inspiration was to bring the outside in, using a bright, colourful and eclectic mix of flowers. Lying on a sumptuous garden bed running through the centre of the table, a vibrant melody of pink ranunculus, grape hyacinth, ericnobs, cheerfulness and sweet williams sprouted from within it, as though it were a beautiful, blossoming garden.

The vivid blend of colours was ideal for the rich, opulent surroundings of Loulou’s and colourful tea lights were also dotted throughout the arrangement adding to the ambience.

It’s been a busy week here at the Wild at Heart headquarters with Valentine’s Day bouquets, flowers for private parties and setting up sample tables for upcoming weddings. Our contract flowers team have also been creating some really gorgeous arrangements with spring flowers, such as the beautiful pink ranunculus arrangement below. Lastly we were delighted that Jay Rutland posted a picture of the flower-covered heart which he commissioned us to create for his wife Tamara Ecclestone for Valentine’s Day.

This special limited edition screenprint from artist Rob Ryan ‘Somewhere in My Head There is a Place’, worth £440, makes a gorgeous gift for the one you love. To make it extra special, the winner will also get a large Passionate Romance bouquet from Wild at Heart. Competition ends February 14th. Click here to enter now!

We caught up with the man himself to speak about his inspiration behind his Valentine’s Day print and life as an artist. See the full interview below:

Where do you get inspiration from?

Anywhere, on the bus, riding my bike, lying awake in bed at night – I get my little note book out and get scribbling away.

What interesting projects are you working on now?

The biggest project is a personal one, after about 15 years of cutting paper I have got my paints out again and started painting. I hope to bring something new to my painting from what I have learned from papercutting and vice versa.

What do you love most about what you do?

Getting excited about a new idea for work, it’s still always thrilling. Also working and working on something, trying to get to the root of making the picture you had in your head a reality on paper.

What’s your favourite thing you’ve ever created?

I have to say its always the thing Im currently working on – there can be no other way.

Can you tell us about this new screenprint for Valentine’s Day 2016?

Well, its a bit late because we just keep on adding more and more layers!!! It’s about an imaginary place I have in my head, a pool in a wood, its a place I have visited in my imagination for years, Ive kind of turned it into a sort of love story. There are three versions – man and woman, man and man, woman and woman. But sorry no woman and dog Nikki !!

We have to ask … do you have a favourite flower?

Nastertiums ! When I was six we had plants climbing up all over the front of our bungalow, when I came home from school one day every flower had opened and our house was on fire with yellow and orange flowers !

We had the pleasure of doing wedding flowers for Nicole and Adam, our friends at Banana Split, whose big day took place at the Rosewood Hotel last weekend. We created the most beautiful chuppah of eucalyptus studded with gorgeous white roses to provide a centre stage for the couple to exchange their vows. Garlands of white roses and eucalyptus were spiralled down to the base where clusters of candles added a warm glow to the ceremony. Table decorations altered between white rose domes and taller centrepieces of spiralling eucalyptus arrangements, keeping a chic and stylish theme to a delightful day.

Our creative team constructed this beautiful blossom tree installation for the Maddox Gallery in Mayfair for the launch of their new exhibition, Decadence, from ‘Hollywood’s Favourite Photographer’ Typer Shields.

“In a subversive nod to his infamous work with Hollywood’s hippest, Decadence is set in the court of Marie Antoinette. The coolest names in indie stardom luxuriate in the pomp and splendour of the rooms of Versailles, a tongue-in-cheek collaboration between the iconic visual artist and America’s freshest talent.”
