We managed to get into the Whitehall banqueting Hall last Sunday while it was being prepared for an absolutely gorgeous wedding…

The guests guessed they were in for a special time as they were greeted by burning pyres and a red carpet.

Normally, the first thing that hits you when you enter the banqueting hall is the amazing ceiling painted by Reubens – it’s the only work by the artist to remain in it’s original position and it totally takes your breath away, but on Sunday this and the combination of Nikki’s elongated gold and silver chesterfield sofas, the low and long golden mirrored coffee tables and pouffes, luxurious rugs, absolutely gorgeous flowers and one of the most notable guest lists in town was enough to make your heart skip a couple of beats!

Nikki worked with the bride closely and they decided on a combination of black Dahlias, Hypnose, Pink Piano Roses and pale pink Dahlias to create a nude vintage look with dramatic bursts of black and red.

The gorgeous flowers were complimented by sumptuous brown damask table linen and gold rimmed crystal goblets to add to the overall luxurious feel…

It all looked so completely gorgeous, we were wishing we had an invite – especially when we saw the cake!

Nikki is absolutely over the moon that Jonathan Adler has just opened a flagship store on Sloane Avenue, she’s been a huge fan for years and if it weren’t for the ephemeral nature of flowers – Nikki’s motto wouldn’t be dissimilar to Jonathan’s, “If your heirs won’t fight over it, we won’t make it.”

Nikki was so excited about being able to get her hands on the goodies that she’s been importing for a while without waiting for them to ship from New York, that she got all snap happy in the store – and much as we’d like to keep him all to ourselves, it would be rude not to share! We HEART Jonathan Adler!

Halloween is coming up fast and our wonderful team at the Island have been busy creating some rather gorgeous seasonal treats for us. Taking Physalis fruit – more commonly known as the Chinese Lantern (for obvious reasons!) and attaching them to bare branches with wire, they created the illusion of a lantern festival in miniature, popping with colour!

While the finishing touches were being made Chris was determined to bring a Mexican Day of the Dead feel to his Halloween pumpkin with some pretty spectacular carving!

The team will be lighting the pumpkins tomorrow, so pop along to the Island to pick up your pumpkin and some tips from the experts on how to make yours look like it was carved by a pro!

Working with the creative director of Vogue in 2008, it was inevitable that Nikki was going to be involved in a project that was way ahead of the trend, and as the catwalks have gone flower print crazy this season we think it’s fitting that we revisit the creative collaboration that produced these spectacular images.

We know we shouldn’t be talking about Christmas before the clocks have gone back but the festive spirit was alive and well in Nikki’s house this weekend! The marvellous photographer NIck Stevens, who took the gorgeous images of NIkki outside our Pimlico store with the huge pink hydrangeas this summer, was back to capture a Nikki Tibbles Wild at Heart Christmas, and where else but in Nikki’s amazing home.

These behind the scenes images capture Nick at work – we’ve had a sneak preview of his shots and are over the moon by the way he’s worked to our brief. When Nikki engages with a client to create their perfect Christmas, she is incredibly sympathetic to the style of their home and makes sure that the client’s every desire is realised, whilst subtly blending the style with that of the home. Nikki once created a Christmas scheme to compliment a client’s fabulous Jeff Koons sculpture and so the tree was hung with matching silver trains! The photographs will be online soon in our brand new Christmas section, where you can take inspiration from Nikki and buy the smallest of wreaths or indulge your wildest Christmas fantasies and have Nikki and her fantastic team of expert stylists create your perfect Christmas without you so much as having to pop the attic door…

What a combination! Nikki absolutely loves working with the renowned and fabulous visual merchandising design consultant John Field, and when he asked her to be involved in the opening of the DSquared2 Flagship store in Paris, she was completely thrilled.

After swiftly bringing together her amazing team – our fabulous operations director Leigh and the super manager of our Liberty concession, Astrid, Nikki got to work with the existing feel of the store and the materials used – timber, highly polished chrome and an introduction of monochrome, Nikki proposed a design that would be both grand and strong.

Either side of the main entrance Nikki suggested a sculpture of around 20 knotted chairs, carrying through the theme from John’s DSquared2 Milan store, and these would be embedded in a wild tangle of branches and tall grass with plenty of drama supplied by masses of blown black roses, black dahlias, deep red spray roses, Vanda orchid plants sprayed black and black asparagus fern. In all the effect was one of a living sculpture, constantly dripping and growing…

Elsewhere in the store were black boxes filled with a wild and loose mass of magnolia and willow branches wrapped in asparagus fern with heavy knots of roses, dahlias and black orchids around a meter high…

For Nikki, working with John Field is a complete joy.Through their ten year working relationship they have worked together on projects for Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Boucheron and Sergio Rossi, amongst other renowned names. Nikki believes that John absolutely deserves his reputation as one of the most talented and innovative visual display consultants in the industry today and our congratulations go out to John Field and his team for another raging success!

Well done everyone, the store looked amazing. Don’t forget to check out the excitement on the night in our last blog entry!

The guys from Mappin and Webb’s creative team were out in force this morning at the Island and here they are in action. It was such a pleasure to see a team so happy and professional in their work, we bet the photos will look amazing!

Because they were so well behaved, Chris, our wonderful manager at the Island, whipped up a small Christmas table decoration for the team to take away to their next shoot…seems insane to be thinking about Christmas when the sun is beating down on us so gloriously!
